Common Leaks

The most common leaks we see in the water damage restoration industry are from uninsulated pipes, worn out water heaters, ice maker lines, and toilets. After nearly 30 years we have seen just about everything! We strictly follow industry guidelines to ensure that our work is always consistent with our ethics. Sewage cleanup is probably one of our more common jobs. It is important to know that sewage cleanup should be taken very seriously. We take extra care and use the proper equipment, PPE (personal protective gear) and procedures to ensure that your home is left cleaner than it was before. The first step we take is physically extract and properly dispose of any and all raw sewage. The next step we take is to remove and dispose of all porous materials that have become contaminated. These include sheetrock, baseboards, carpet, tackless strip, vinyl, MDF (pressboard) cabinets, and the like. We remove the toilet, remove any tile that might have sewage trapped underneath it, cabinets, etc.

Then we begin performing a bio-wash. Bio-washing involves our continuously flushing the areas with an antimicrobial solution until it is totally clean. Only at that point do we spray a final layer of antimicrobial solution down. The next step we take is to set fans, dehumidifiers, and air scrubbers ( to clean the air being blown around). A typical job usually takes 3-5 days.
